To configure DNS settings for a CMS instance with the CDN feature enabled, create the following DNS records.
-
A record with the "origin." prefix to any sub domain accessed by end users that points to the assigned IP address.
For instance, for "www.contoso.com", the A record would be "origin.www.contoso.com"
-
A record with the "dev." prefix to any sub domain accessed by end users that points to the assigned IP address.
This is the same with CMS instances without the CDN feature enabled.
For instance, for "www.contoso.com", the A record would be "dev.www.contoso.com"
-
CNAME record for any sub domain accessed by end users that points to the host as specified in your registration email.
For instance, "www.contoso.com", the CNAME record would point to "wac.XXXX.edgecastcdn.net" where "XXXX" is the CMS instance's CDN account number found in your registration email.
